Find your place in research.
Work alongside faculty and graduate researchers on projects that interest you. Gain experience and explore where engineering can take you.
Research starts with curiosity.
You can contribute to a BCOE research team during your undergraduate years. Students investigate medical technologies, robotics, materials, and more, gaining hands-on experience as they learn.

See what students are researching.
Undergraduate researchers work on questions across engineering. These students contributed to published work in robotics and environmental engineering.

Brandon Marcus
Co-authored a research paper on mobile robots that recognize when a route is blocked and ask a person for directions in everyday language. The team tested its navigation method in simulations and on a physical robot.

Melina Caraballo
Published a 2026 study examining how acid concentration, particle size, and rinsing affect the preparation of biochar for ammonia removal. Her experiments compared 18 treatment combinations using pH measurements.
