We Engineer Excellence

Hands-on Engineering at BCOE

Senior Design Showcase

See what happens when undergraduate engineering students take an idea, work through the challenges, and build something real. The Senior Design Showcase brings student teams together to share their projects with faculty, industry partners, alumni, and the community.

Where classroom learning becomes engineering practice

Senior design is a culminating undergraduate experience in which students work in teams to define a challenge, develop a solution, and test their ideas. They draw on what they've learned in class while working through the technical decisions, constraints, and revisions that come with engineering a project.

At the showcase, students present their work, explain their choices, and demonstrate what they have built. It is a chance to celebrate their work and connect with the people who may help shape their next steps.

From challenge to showcase

Projects take shape through design, hands-on testing, and the work of communicating a solution.

01 / Define

Understand the problem

Teams identify a need, establish goals, and consider the requirements that will guide their design.

02 / Design & Test

Build and improve

Students model, prototype, troubleshoot, and refine their approach as they evaluate what works.

03 / Present

Share the results

Project teams explain their work and demonstrate outcomes to fellow students, faculty, and invited guests.

A chance to show what you can build

Projects move beyond a written assignment. Students bring their ideas to life through physical prototypes, demonstrations, poster presentations, and conversations with people who work in engineering.

What you'll experience at the showcase

Explore student projects up close, hear the stories behind the designs, and connect with the people doing the work.
